Reducing Disparities in HIV Care for Miami-Dade and Broward Counties residents
Care Resource aimed to reduce disparities in health outcomes for low-income persons of color, men who have sex with men, and transgender persons living with HIV in Miami-Dade County including Liberty City, Overtown, Little Haiti, North Miami and Miami Beach.
Project DA²RE (Disparities in care Addressed through Access, Retention, and Equity) identified barriers of access to health care and provide a broad range of services to address these vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with community-based organizations to address barriers to care
Established a single physical point of contact for HIV care to include dental health, behavioral health, food bank and referrals
Created multidisciplinary HIV care teams comprised of nurses, case managers and behavioral health counselors to focus on clients clinical and social needs.
Reduce disparities in access, care and health outcomes for people with HIV
Implemented iENGAGE, a four-session strategy focused on access, retention, and medication adherence for patients with HIV.
Fostered relationships between trained interventionist and HIV clinic patients and facilitated progression within the HIV care continuum
Established telehealth units as a mode of service delivery (nursing and behavioral health) for clients with transportation issues, or those facing high risk of disengagement
Improving the quality of life for persons living with HIV in South Florida

Ron Ledain, MBA
Mr. Ledain is Director of Marketing, Health Promotion, and Linkage at Care Resource Inc,. He oversees all prevention, marketing, outreach, navigation, and linkage activities that aim to recruit, engage, and retain new clients into medical care. Ron’s past experiences include a long tenure working with major development organizations in Haiti such as Plan International, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Program.
Currently, Mr. Ledain is leading the team at Care Resource to expand their current services to address access barriers to care.
